Traditional dual bay enclosures provide limited functionality such as JBOD, 2 TB barriers and without dual drive access. This unique enclosure provides simultaneous access to two different hard drives. Experienced DIY users can setup Windows dynamic disks that support simple volumes, striped (RAID 0) and mirrored (RAID 1) volumes, up to a total capacity of 4 TB. When not using software based RAID, its dual channel controller provides independent access to two drives.

Having the ability to add more than one drive to an enclosure is a nice feature. During testing I used it a few times to transfer data to and from work, and just opening the door and sliding the drive in makes life a little bit easier. The all aluminum construction of the unit helps with heat dissipation as well as aesthetics.All in all I think that Eagle Tech has build an outstanding enclosure with the ET-CSMDSU2-BK and would have not doubt recommending it. -by hightech-hardware.com

The Eagle Consus Multitasking Dual Drive Enclosure ET-CSMDSU2-BK is a decent dual drive enclosure. The transfer speed rates are respectable and the setup is pretty easy. -by overclockershq.com

All in all Eagle Tech has presented us with a fine external enclosure. Hot swapping is a breeze in Vista as well as doing any backup...For anybody wanting something small and simple to take to a LAN party instead of hauling your server around I highly recomend the ET-CSMDSU2-BK 3.5” External Enclosure. -by bjorn3d.com
